365 #218 - St Rognvald

Uber quick blip today but fortunately in a fab location with lovely weather. This wee boat always catches my eye despite it's more cheerily decorated neighbours.
Having a close up of the name I was compelled to google up some info on this Rognvald dude and basically there's a whole Norway/Orkney thing going on. Here's a translation of one of his poems:

Golden one, Tall one
Moving in perfume and onyx
Witty one, You with the shoulders
Lapped in long silken hair/Listen: because of me
The eagle has a red claw

Uh huh. Make of that what you will.
