Daisy Visits the Land of Flowers
The only sane way to travel through Edinburgh during the Fringe is by bus; in that way soaring blood pressure is experienced only by the driver.
We were heading out of town to the Land of Flowers to buy some daffodil and snow drop bulbs.
Three years ago, against the perceived community garden policy, I planted some daffodil bulbs close to the boundary wall opposite the flat and it is lovely to see the flowers add a touch of colour to their grassy surroundings at the beginning of spring each year.
Up until now there have been no complaints, and so I'm planting some more, and given the fact that the gardeners have never thought fit to resow grass seed in the holes on the lawn gouged out by the falling tree 3 winters ago, I'm taking the liberty of popping some snowdrops bulbs into the holes.
This clandestine work will be done early some morning before the world awakens.
This is our little secret, just don't tell the resident squirrel.
Daisy the calf with the budding horns, looking slightly abashed at having strayed into this flower border..... just as long as she doesn't come anywhere near my daffs!
