JUDAS CROWN?

We call it "Judas Crown."
I wonder why a lovely plant should be given this name.
Why would Judas have a crown?
Why Judas?
It survives in the dry garden to surprise us once a year with these lovely composite, conical, bright yellow flower heads.
The deep burgundy leaves add interest in the garden during the rest of the year.
