Tramtracks and the Hrads
Bratislava part II. There's trams all over these European countries, it's convenient. I messed up the photos with a tram passing through though.
We took the day to visit the city. It's dead in the morning (its since been discovered that not much goes on in Slovakia during mornings, at least in summer...) and breakfast was hard to find! So we just explored and visited a couple of historical places, like the cathedral of St. Martin (skeletons and monstrances) and the famous Hrad (that's castle in slovakian).
Then we took a bus, hit the airport and rented a car for the rest of the stay in Slovakia! Another hrad on the way in Trencin, which offered a phenomenal view from the tower top, then we made it to our destination of the famous spa town of Trencianske Teplice for the evening.
Man these places have funny names. Plus the Slovak roots of the language are impossible to learn, meaning the language has almost nothing in common with the ones we know. Luckily most people know a bit of German or English here. But the worst thing is, towns and places seem to change names, whether they're on the map or on signposts or guidebooks etc. It's really confusing... Still always good fun though!
