Figgy harvest

On the left, a slightly nibbled fig, on the right, the possible culprit, a longlegged harvestman.
It's an arachnid but not a spider, being an earlier evolutionary offshoot.Luckily for the harvestmen this means they have penises, true spiders having lost theirs. However there is no foreplay and the copulation is no longer than a few minutes and may be repeated several times.(I have no information on how harvestwomen respond.)

Harvestmen sometimes clump together in vast vibrating aggregations which look rather like huge hairy armpits. If you like the sound of this see here.
