A family laps up the last rays of the setting sun across Poole Bay.

Lens is Tamron SP 70-300mm VC plus Sigma EX 1.4x teleconverter. Eqv focal length = 560mm

Taken on return on a LONG walk from Poole Quay back to Bournemouth, for last bus back at 11pm. Followed, wherever possible, the beaches, publicly accessible areas at all times, through Parkstone, Poole Harbour (here), Sandbanks at dusk and then (very) brisk stroll along the beach in the near dark back to Bournemouth.

Always wanted to do this walk. Now done it. Signposted at 6.5 miles (10km), no doubt extended by my frequent stops for photies and magnificent views over towards the Purbeck Hills and Brownsea Island.

I felt a lot like this family after - exhausted but exhilarated - summer IS about being out and enjoying it, after all! It soon goes... make the most of it!
