rainbow

Today we headed to the northern fells of the Lake District to escape the crowds in our home area. The weather forecast was good so I wasn't happy when it started to rain not long into the walk. That disappointment soon turned to smiles when I saw this rainbow. Blip sorted :)

The rain clouds cleared and we continued to Bowscale Tarn. A peregrine was flying above while we sat having a snack. Another shower on the way back to the car but not bad enough to get our waterproofs out.

We took the scenic circular route home stopping off at Dodd Wood to visit the Osprey viewpoint. I was lucky to see two of these birds, one of which flew off its branch while I watched.
