Maths in nature

A flower in the Linda Vista gardens today. Such perfection!

I was torn between this and the rather earthier view of two ladybirds (or perhaps a gentlemanbird and a ladybird) copulating, which you can find here, but the flower won, because there might be some who feel that insects deserve their privacy.
