A Picture That Tells a Story
When Dana was in college, she and I hiked across the Alps with a rather well known woman mountaineer, who designated Dana the "official" photographer for the trip, and proceeded to lecture her on how to use her camera set up picture, and shoot it. She must have used the phrase, "you need a picture that tells a story" dozens of times, so Dana and I adapted it as our motto for the trip. We abandoned the annoying mountaineer halfway through the planned trip, but the phrase has remained in our lexicon ever since…
We got no farther than the field above our house on our walk this morning when OilMan and Dana discovered "perfect" rocks for our rock garden. I think it's pretty funny that we are "importing" rocks to our own garden, which is already 50% rocks. Ignoring my suggestion that they stick to rocks they could carry, they set off with the car in order to bring all the rocks to the front door (up seven steps) from the back door (down 30 steps).
I'll leave you to supply the story for this picture. The only hint I'll add is that all the rocks on the little lawn have now found their new homes about the place, and Dana has deemed the new fountain/rock garden finished. I'm not so sure about that….
Here is the way it looked before we started. I hasten to add that the "before" picture was taken before the pump and filter failed, the drain clogged, and the whole thing (It was only about two feet deep) turned green, mosquito filled and nasty.)
