Gorge-ous

Our full day in Switzerland. We took the train to Meiringen to see some mountains. The train trip was beautiful. From Meiringen we walked to Aare gorge and took the fabulous winding elevated walkway. There were some fantastic views of the power of water erosion together with glacial melt water flowing beneath us.

We then had a surreal moment catching a little train by ringing a doorbell in a mountain, which called it for a request stop! We took the train and then a funicular to Reichenbach falls, famed as supposedly where Sherlock Homes fell to his death. Then a cable car to Reuti and a lovely walk back down the mountain to Meiringen. We awarded ourselves a pizza after all that before catching another train home.

What a lovely day and the predicted thundery weather stayed away until quite late this evening.
