LICHEN OUTCROP ON THE TRACTOR CAB ROOF
I am not complaining.
No, no, far from it.
The loan of John White's old tractor with the log-splitter thrown in, and the facility to haul a trailer load of logs out of a boggy woodland is SO valued, especially now. It just does have those few odd features.
There's a battery that sits at the front and it's not strapped on or anything.
There are NO lights.
The windows in the cab don't open so there are no hand signals.
Some of the vital component need to be tied on with binder twine or they would rattle loose, and be lost forever.
Some already have done.
The steering has a LOT of slack in it... which means you daren't hit top speed on the road.
And now today,
I noticed (as I was standing on the cab roof to take photos of Portymoor Coppice from a nice new angle) that nature has contributed more than rust to the roof.
It's got a lot going for it, this old tractor.
