Fog

Decided to have a more touristy San Francisco day today. Left L's in hot sunshine but just past the airport a line of cloud and fog descended and the temperature plummeted by nearly 10 degrees! It stayed cold and foggy all day but we explored Haight Ashbury area and had a lovely Brazilian lunch there, then travelled via old trains and trams along fisherman's wharf (packed!) and tried to go on a cable car but weren't going to wait for an hour and a half in the queue, so had hot chocolate instead! Drove round to see the painted lady houses and some other landmarks before coming home, emerging at the same place into strong sunshine and warmth again...very weird! Apparently typical of SF in the summer....certainly was sunnier in the city last October!
