Lac du Mont Cenis

We decided on a day trip to Italy and our host had recommended a restaurant in Novalesa just over the border. Apparently she and her husband make the journey every year to celebrate her birthday. It was a fairly long trip and we went via the Col du Mont Cenis which involved lots of hair pin bends. We also stopped at the Lac du Mont Cenis which was a beautiful jade blue colour.

We went to La Posta restaurant in Novalesa. It seemed that it was the place to eat. We arrived at 1315 and it was still full of diners. We started with a selection of 5 antipasti, then moved on to the pasta course, the meat course, dessert, and finally coffee. All delicious and we came away very full and quite tired!

We had a stroll around the village after lunch to try and walk it off before we got back in the car to return to France, this time by the Frejus tunnel which was much quicker but less spectacular.

All quite tired at the end of another good day.
