Lace Border Moth

Scopula decorate. A lovely moth found in Southern England on chalk and limestone grassland. The book says it is scarce. This one was photographed in the Spanish Pyrenees. As we put the car on the ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao we were able to take the portable moth trap as well as the kitchen sink. It added quite a lot of extra interest to our holiday.

As I write this Ann is busy searching for Gites in the Dordoigne for a possible trip next summer.
