High Standard.

Well i am glad to say, that the weather hasn't been as bad as they said it would be. We did have thunder and lightening early this morning, but the rest of the day has been sunshine and showers. We went out this morning to get the newspaper, and then went to have a look at the car boot sale, that they hold in the muti storey car park in the town on a Sunday. What a load of rubbish. I have thrown out better stuff myself. We then drove to Cowbridge to get a few things in Waitrose. In the high street we saw this Standard 8 car parked outside the wedding shop. It went into production in 1954 and would have cost £481. It had a top speed of 69mph, and could return 39 mpg. The engine is 803cc. It was a very basic car for it's time. This had been restored and was immaculate. They are now quite rare. J was impressed, anyway. I was more interested in the wedding dress shop behind. I love looking at wedding dresses. I am looking forward to watching the return of , The Village on BBC tonight.
