Making Colour

Today we set off through the mighty deluge to the "Making Colour" exhibition at the National Gallery. Sadly, no photos allowed so this is from the entrance to the Sainsbury's Wing where the exhibition is housed. Great info, lovely to learn about the ingenuity in finding, making, developing & using colours. Then off for lunch at St Martin in the Fields (highly recommended) and across the road for the BP portrait of the year exhibition (highly, highly recommended ..... and free!)

The winning portrait was of a homeless man, posed as normal, and strangely reminiscent of the old masters, gold backdrop, rich cloth, piercing gaze. I just wished I could post it but not allowed, so you can check it out here but this does not do it justice, it is superb! Many of those on display were just stunning.
