Festival crowds

These are found on predictable routes - George IV Bridge, The Bridges, Princes St, George St, The Royal Mile, the Cowgate, and the entrance to any large venue.

To avoid them, the knowledgeable Edinburgher diverts to the usually awkward (narrow, steep, stepped) closes, pends, vennels and lanes connecting said thoroughfares.

We can only hope to develop pigeon-like navigational skills and goat-like nimbleness en route.
