Bagpuss and Midges

It was the first day of training at Lagganlia today and we were in the forest at Uath Lochan, a beautiful spot with very runnable woodland but enough technicality to pose some challenges to the juniors. Sadly the weather arrived in the morning and the damp was the perfect environment for midges. The juniors kept moving to avoid them as much as possible but inevitably they were a constant nuisance. Here Zac is waiting to head out on the first leg of the relay for his team and is surrounded by the mini beasts. I love how he has his team's mascot, in this case Bagpuss, tucked in his headband. Bagpuss is destined to be taken out into the forest and left for team member number two to find and move on...let's hope he comes back!
