Sea Ayr
Work took me to Ayr today. Initially snowy views from the train then gave way to beautiful frosty golf courses - lots and lots of golf courses. Not usually a fan (waste of a good walk and all that), but they did look absolutely stunning as we sped by, encrusted with a diamond white layer.
I had time for a quick wander down to the prom when I got to Ayr. Biting cold, but amazing views of Arran across the water, rising out of the distant cloudbank, but alas too far away to get any kind of decent blip. So instead, had fun with an abandoned seaside telescope.
The main council chamber is a pretty impressive building too - one of those civi centres from a disappearing era, with lots of marble and stained glass. I liked it. And the people were lovely too. A good day.
