Swim until you can't see land

Back to Portobello beach, to spend the evening in the pissing rain watching the festival production Out of Water. An immersive theatre piece with audience participation, about.......erm.....the shipping forecast, and swimming and being out of breath and calling for help. I think that was about it.

Fortunately, it wasn't about the story, or the music, it was all about the spectacle. And it did have a very dramatic ending (which I can safely divulge, since tonight was the last performance), with the cast wading off into the murky waters of the Forth. And they kept walking, further and further out to sea, into the gloaming, until they were almost invisible. Fortunately. the audience participation didn't extend to us joining in that bit.
