Grotesque Figure, St Leonards Church, Charlecote

This mythical beast is one of many carved stone pieces that can be found in and around the church at Charlecote. It is a fine piece of work and it really shows the beast to best advantage, climbing down the walls of the Church. It is a grotesque rather than a gargoyle as it does not have a water spout to remove rain from the roof of the building.
