What's cooking?

Very exciting day today. We had a visit from chef James Martin.

He did a demo of a few dishes and while cooking, got over a few key healthy eating messages to the children.

It was really interesting to see all the behind the scenes planning that goes into such an event. Now that I'm in the know, it would be a shame to give away any of the secrets though.

Most impressive was the hand spun sugar which was made into a ball of candy floss, then some more made into a basket. Staff appreciated his skill, while the children assumed he was performing a magic trick!!

The children loved the afternoon and every child got their programme signed as they left the hall. Staff just used their programmes to fan themselves!!
