Outside the Moon and Sixpence

No trip to Whitby is complete without a stroll along
its East Pier offering extensive views in all directions
but especially northwards along the sands to Sandend.
But this was also another Regatta day. A day for celebration.
A day to take champagne with your oysters at the Moon
and Sixpence. A day to wear your Sunday best with pride.
So it was as I encountered Steve from Rotherham in
tweeds with plus fours and sporting a moustache that
would have been a fair challenge to the late Jimmy Edwards
