A room with a view :-)

This is the view we have from the living room in Holland, a view on the opposite cafe/party centre/chip shop. When my parents-in-law had this house built in the 60s there was a barn and an old farm opposite, I think. Over the past 50 years it has been transformed into this well-known place to have a drink and snack on the way from Brabant to Zeeland (it's near the old road from Bergen op Zoom to Zeeland). The latest bits like the extra thatched alcove entrance and the rather intriguing multi-coloured decorations on the roof are changes done in the last ten years. I did wonder if the design of the alcove was based on Darth Vader's helmet ;-) Goes well with the ominous rain clouds today

Thanks very much for your comments on yesterday's vintage carpet beater. My mother-in-law's generation used to have lots of loose carpets which had to be beaten furiously every week to get rid of dirt and dust.
