And the clock waits so patiently......
It seemed a long day stuck in the office today!
This is the clock tower at Lindley, Huddersfield which I previously blipped last August. This year the flowers though out the district are Tour de France yellow.
The tower, designed by architect Edgar Wood, stands 83ft high with a green copper-clad pagoda roof, carved elongated figures adjacent to four buttresses at the top and above the doorway below, on either side of which are sculptures related to the theme of time in Lindley. On the buttresses themselves are sculptures portraying the virtues of Truth, Love, Purity and Justice by Stirling Lee, who also sculpted the other statues.
