the fence

Just a quick walk through Penny Rock Woods and along the shore of Grasmere today.  This view of the lake with the fence is a much photographed one but I wonder how many bother to shoot it in such dismal weather. There was a tiny bit of sunshine catching Helm Crag. 

Much more colourful were the goldfinches on the western shore. They were having a feast on the seeds of the Knapweed.
