Go Forth to The Bridge
Back in the Bliposphere after a wee holiday hiatus...
Did I miss anything?
I went to Hopetoun House in South Queensferry today to meet artist Kate Downie at her new exhibition based on a spell as artist-in-residence at the nearby Forth Road Bridge.
On 4 September, it will be 50 years since the Queen officially opened the Forth Road Bridge. Kate's residency and exhibition form an integral part of the celebrations to mark its big birthday.
This picture shows one of Kate's virtuoso ink on paper drawings, A View Into the Future.
It's part of a red-carpet length Road Bridge Diary which combines Kate's own experiences of the bridge along with a collection of stories from people with a connection to the it.
It will be rolled out at a special dinner on 4 September at Hopetoun House to mark the bridge's BIG birthday.
The exhibition is free and runs until 13 September. Mulling it all over tonight as I think about what I'm going to write about it for Saturday's Herald.
