Baby Coot

Went for a walk at lunchtime to visit Big Pond Community 1. It was cold and windy outside with a splattering of rain. The swans and cygnets were gliding and paddling around looking ruffled in the wind and the ducklings - who are growing at a very fast rate - were racing the cygnets for food and 'ducking' out of the way.

The three baby coots are growing too - even from last week - well two of them are. The third still has the red bulgy eyed look but appears tough. The one in the blip is the biggest. The parents are constantly passing the baby coots food - and flapping aggressively and 'running' over the water at the ducklings.

Head cleared of cobwebs by the time I returned to my desk.
