Sydney is in the grip of a high rise apartment frenzy at the moment. Prices are ridiculously high meaning that developers can make a killing. This site is in Mascot, on a main road that leads to the airport. When I rode down here this morning the adjacent street was gridlocked with cars and semitrailers yet more and more buildings are going up.

A friend of ours, who is challenging a high rise development that will overshadow her home, told us last night that they presented their concerns to a supposedly independent review panel and the chairman of the panel was obviously in favour of the development and treated them with rudeness and contempt.

One can only wonder what encourages the approval of these projects.
