A first!

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd be picking blackberries/brambles in Orkney in August! It certainly has been a super growing year for almost everything. These are growing wild in amongst what is almost a bog, lots of reeds and sphagnum moss, rosa rugosa and rosebay willow herb.

I made a bramble and apple crumble, (which we had with lashings of custard!) but I'm hoping there might be enough ripening over the next while to make a pot or two of jam or jelly.
