France Day 2 : Sunflowers

Today we set off in the car so that D#2 could show me the area near Airvault.

First stop was an e-n-o-r-m-o-u-s field of sunflowers, although we had to pass several fields that were decidedly past their best before we spotted a bright yellow one in the distance and found our way to it.

From there we explored the towns of St Jouin-de-Marnes, Moncontour and Loudun, all of which can boast examples of fine architecture dating from the 11th century.
