School disco
Probably nothing I can say about helping out at the school disco for 120 5 - 8 year olds that the picture and your own imaginations can't conjure up. I would tell you what song was playing when this picture was taken but I am in the process of muting the event in my memory bank and so I can't. I was a little hesitant at first about taking pictures but a few others weren't having any such qualms so I decided to risk being told off (what is about being in a school makes me assume I'll get told off for something?!). Anyway, I knew I intended to mess about with it so no individuals would be recognisable and only I know that the kid at the front in the stripes is Jackson.
Needless to say the kids had a fantastic time. Also needless to say, it all ended with a child on the edge as we walked home but despite complaining about his feet hurting he didn't take my advice to take his shoes off - it's worked for me plenty of times. Oh well, he'll learn. Though I should make it clear that he wasn't wearing high heels which is what usually precipitates that need for me.
Somehow dinner and bedtime have happened without too much incident, the kids are in deep slumber, I have fed myself (Carl is away tonight) and am about to turn in for an early night with a bit of R4 on iplayer and a book.
It's been such a great day. I was up and out working early, got my head down and enjoyed a frenzy of creative productivity. So a great balance of productive, enjoyable work and some good times with the kids. Only thing missing was Carl but he's back early tomorrow and it will be no time before the weekend starts.
Hope you're enjoying some balance too.
