The medieval kitchen at Haddon Hall

Our second day of sharing local places with friends. Today we went south into Derbyshire calling in at Rowsley before making it to our main destination of Haddon Hall. We finally had to stop in Bakewell to sample the Bakewell Tart (well half our party did). We had the best of the day in the late afternoon/ early evening and drove home with some wonderful light on the heather and the hills. As the driver who was negotiating some twisting roads I didn't get to see quite so much! A late evening meal for us and now it feels like bedtime.
