The land that time forgot...

Had to go to a place called Thorne today to do some research on the area, as i came out of the library i spotted a wonderful old wind mill in the background. So off i went to see if i could get a closer look, the windmill on question is known as Oates Mill. at the base of the derelict mill stood this contraption ( not sure if it was a pump of some description or a weighing type of implement ) but either way the whole area around the mill looked as if it came from a bygone age, which is quite apt as i had just been researching the draining of the Isle of Axholme of which Thorne is located.
