Red Kite in the Morning

This is not the final result of my 'Build Yourself a Red kite Kit' but a real Red Kite seen on the morning walk with The Dog. You can see how the plumage gives these magnificent birds their name.

Following on from yesterday's blip here's what happened after my first date with 'White Van Delivery Man'

As mentioned yesterday, he asked me if he could meet me the following week on the same evening.
I had to decline as I was already doing something.
The next day he called and asked if he could take me out for dinner on Saturday night. - again I had to decline due to a prior arrangement. He didn't seem very happy about that, but I explained I wasn't prepared to cancel.
He offered to come and pick me up from home. (Something I never let anyone do until I know them pretty well due to the isolated location of my cottage.)
I reminded him that I already had something organised.
"O.K. well if you must...." he said.

Late the following evening I got a text that said:
"Sorry but I love you x x x"

Oh my goodness! My heart sank as I had no idea to respond, so I decided to sleep on it - or not as it happens.
My mind jumped from thinking 'stalker' to 'how sweet' and many things in between as I tossed and turned in the early hours.

By the morning I'd decided that the risk was too great to let someone into my life who had sent such an inappropriate message after only one evening.

The day passed without me responding, and then another text arrived:

"Lesson one. Don't declare undying love to someone after a first date."

Not exactly an apology, I thought, so I responded by text in the nicest possible was to say sorry, and that his declaration of love had un-nerved me too much to arrange another date, and that I hoped he understood.

His response by text surprised me further.
"Don't worry about me, my life is fine and I'm looking forward to returning to normality."

Normality? I was thankful I hadn't let him any where near me or my home!!

Back to the drawing board! x
