Do you see it the way I do?
This is perplexing me at the moment. Do people see it your way?
What I love about photographs is that they are visual images. They are what they are. They are undeniable - light and shade and colour. The viewer may interpret but this interpretation does not change the object. It remains constant even if the interpretation shifts in the sands.
The spoken word, however, is fleeting. It is an event that, in an instant, is past. And once its gone, the interpretation is the only thing that remains. The interaction lives only in those that were witness. Deniable and shifting, without form, shape and colour.
Give me colour, light and shade. Those images that endure for all else shifts in the sand.
(incidentally, this is neon statement appeared on the side of an apartment block on St Andrews Drive a while ago and I have no idea why/how. Anybody have any insider info?)
