Diary of an Edinburgher

Bombed by Bella!

Today we met Boy, the old dog of an ex-neighbour. Boy has never been friendly with other dogs, but he seemed to put up with Archie quite well for a while and they ran around with gay abandon while J and I chatted.

J had her wee granddaughter, Bella, who insisted on being released from her pushchair, and then wandered off and brought back a couple of golf hole flags. I thought what fun it would be to put them back in the wrong places… No, maybe not much fun.

I was trying to take a photo while the dogs were playing nicely, leaping around and chasing, but Bella spotted the camera and came rushing across to photo-bomb expertly.

Shortly after this, Boy, a neutered male, then got decidedly amorous towards Archie - well, he is rather cute - but Archie wasn’t too keen on these advances and got a bit frightened … I thought neutering stopped all that nonsense…

Archie stopped at our gate, cocked his leg at the hedge and piddled. Marking behaviour. He must be nearing maturity, which may have sealed his fate...

Uncle A popped in with a frisbee for me. Or was it for Archie?
