At last

I have a well known and very poor history with stoves. Apparently for every batch there is at least one lemon, and I get it.

This one has been continuing to fall apart for some time since I vowed to pay for no more repairs.

The bottom panel hangs by a thread, one knob falls off, all the writing for the controls has disappeared, the griller died, then the oven timer wouldn't stop going off till we broke the glass and manually switched the clock hands to zero which worked but the oven no longer did. After the oven handle fell off I replaced it with a wire coat hanger and at least that has lasted the distance.

Finally I figured I had got my money's worth and ordered a new one at the start of June. It was supposed to come the following week. It arrived today.
The electrician will be here at 8am to install it.

Now I have no more excuses when I am supposed to cook something.
