On the rack

Most of the garlic is happily drying out in the shed. Bulbs of all shapes and sizes laid out with plenty of air and being turned regularly to makes sure that everything is drying well and not going foostie.

Any bulbs that have had their outer layers removed... because of damage and therefore increased susceptibility to aforementioned foostieness I tend to use first.

A few of these bulbs had been dropped in the garlic pot next to the chopping board but when I went to use some at lunchtime (toast with chargrilled tomatoes, garlic and balsamic vinegar and a boiled egg on top - supplies of more usual lunch ingredients running low and necessity being the mother of invention.) I noticed a certain humidity in the pot and decided I better strip the cloves from the bulb and dry them out on a rack.

If that don't work I might have to be using a lot of cloves in the dinner tonight. Mind you, as there's not a whole lot of ingredients in the house it may be roasted garlic with garlic sauce on a bed of garlic puree.
