Fun on the Farm

or maybe " Boys with their toys"

Back at work today and I was speaking at a grassland management meeting. Lots of toys on display for the boys to have a play with.

For the uninitiated this fancy machine is a sward slitter which pokes holes in the field to reduce soil compaction, add air to the soil and help with drainage. Similar idea to spiking the lawn just bigger. I didn't like the way the guy in the boiler suit was jammed between the wheels and machine fixing something while it was still running. No wonder farming is such a dangerous industry!

While I was busy with this the children were back at school and seemed to be happy with their first day.
