Year 2, Day 206 - Yesnaby

Dale and I took some time out from the family to meet up with fellow Blippers PW and Happy Valley and their huskies, Sigyn and Talisker. My Dale and Aonghus are in the photo to. Uunfortunately Aonghus had to be walked on the lead because he was just a little but too interested in Talisker and wouldn't leave him alone!!!

We met up at Yesnaby and walked up to the brough then over to the stacks. They then took us out to the Bay of Skaill to see an arch. I was a bit of a fearty but we crossed over and the other side felt much safer! My legs were like jelly!!!

Dale and I then went for some lunch in Stromness. PW and HV had recommended the excavation at Ness of Brodgar so after lunch we stopped there and it was absolutely fascinating. The whole site is about the size of 10 football pitches but they have only uncovered 10% of it. They can only afford to excavate for 6 weeks of the year so it looks like it will take forever!!! We missed the tour times so we might head back up tomorrow to take the tour.

Meanwhile, the rest of the family headed up to Yesnaby so we met up with them and walked over to the stacks again - with Aonghus off the lead! Got some shots this time.

Headed back to the chalet for some much needed grub and some pear cider!

One more day to go!
