St Andrews Cathedral

Today - a red letter day! J & I set off for St Andrews we visited the St Andrews Botanic Gardens then parked down at the harbour and walked up round the sea wall to the Cathedral. For the first time in nearly 60 years I have visited St Andrews without visiting a shop (except the lunch stop). I have learnt many new facts including that John Knox spent 2 years as a French Galley slave. We visited the Cathedral, St Mary on the Rock, the Castle, the Musa (University museum), St Salvator's Chapel, the Preservation Trust Museum of St Andrews and back down to the harbour. We managed to miss the horrendous rain at lunchtime by timing lunch to perfection.
