This is kind of what the colors look like. The trim is like butta. Seriously it is butter colored.
I am doing this on Friday morning but, it is Thursday's blip. We are singing at the Freeport Farmers market today.....LONG gig 12 to 5. The secret is hydration and breaks.
Last night we did our monthly Local Sprouts gig.
LS is always a crap shoot. We can play to lots of people or to the staff. In the beginning, they were supportive of Ingrid and myself.
. ( I never know if I am supposed to put Ingrid and I or me or myself. So rather than trying not to sound stupid, I am leaving it up to you to put whatever pronoun you think is correct in there! I have had many arguments over this spot of grammar. But........I digress)
Last night we started with one person. He was RIGHT in front of us and wearing..........ear buds. His music was so loud it we could hear it. The beat was often off from ours. However, when we sing "Probably Will" few are louder. But why would you sit in front of the band and listen to your own music while you are on your laptop? At that time there were at least 10 other empty tables all over that restaurant. He kept tapping his foot in time to his music. Not our music mind you HIS music. That's easy to sing against. (I am so lying here)
We ended up with lots of appreciative people in the audience and as always having a great time. We really need to work on some new stuff. Hopefully we will be able to rehearse soon. We start to wind down now and are very thankful for the busy summer but it will be nice to have a weekend free! Just checked and we are off until 8/30!!! I just may have to catch up on some things. My bedroom looks like a cyclone hit it. We had an unfortunate flood the other day.
The official word was anywhere from 4.6 to 6 inches in 2 hours. There was flooding everywhere. Mostly in my bedroom as the air conditioner seemed to be the perfect conduit. The thunder was so loud and the lightning was HUGE. The cats hunkered down under the covers.
As we struggled to take out the air conditioner as fast as we could and wipe up the mess, I swore. Then the tv and cable would not come back on. I swore some more and then no wifi.........omg the humanity..... I invented swear words as the ones I knew were just not adequate enough. Thank God the air conditioner was installed correctly (ok I promised I wouldn't say anything bad about my husband here......draw your own conclusions....)
So I'm kind of looking for something to be excited about and......I have been warned that on my next vacation (to be spent in a foreign land) there will be no air conditioners and I will be walking miles a day in 104 degree heat.
Bring it baby
I have gone without wifi for 4 hours.
It will be nothing.
