Pret

This was Pret a Manger's first ever shop on London's Victoria Street.

I remember, sometime in the late 1980s, a colleague saying she had found a wondrous new sandwich shop and several of us going round to see what the fuss was about.

Now Pret is everywhere. There are at least six separate shops within half a mile of here.

The original shop closed a few weeks ago. It's being replaced by larger premises four doors away.
