Don't choose this route!
This is the road at Avonside, Glenlivet, damaged by Monday's flooding. The phone line is visible across the hole. The postie had driven across shortly before the whole road went! Someone was looking after him!
The boys on the digger reckon it will be open again in six weeks, pretty good going. They have to dredge so that the river moves back to it's original bed, then infill with ballast, then relay the road. The only thing they were not looking forward to was being in the 'back of beyond' for six weeks!
The Avon flows out of the Cairngorms, at this point it has travelled twenty miles, and is supposed to be the clearest, purest water in Scotland.
