Fellow Walkers
Our day began with a very steep ascent, and as we were going up we suddenly came across this herd of about 50 Alpine Cows being led down. We decided it was probably best just to stand still and wait for them all to pass because they are absolutely massive, and although very gentle, I think we were all a little alarmed by the size of their horns! Definitely something you do not experience when doing an expedition in the Cairngorms!
We walked the Bovine route today, and had the opportunity to stop at 2 cafes which was very welcome. We also had fantastic weather which made for a brilliant day! Our camp was at Champex and after dinner our group (along with a few guys from another DofE group) walked down into the town and visited the lake. Being able to do that definitely made it feel more like a holiday rather than an expedition, and it was great to get to know some people from the other school.
