Peebles to Innerlethan bike ride

We had a lovely family bike ride today along the railway path from Peebles to Innerleithen and back again (5 miles each way). I was very impressed that 4 yr old D managed it fine, his wee legs spinning on his wee bike with no gears. It's a lovely easy ride along Tarmac track next to the picturesque river tweed. Had lovely views of the purple heather covered hills too. We had a lovely picnic by the river with great views of a folk of goldfinch.

We stopped for an icecream at the very yummy Caldwell's ice cream shop in Innerleithen. I thought D would be too worn out by the time we got back to Cardrona to the pump and jump track . We all had a fab time doing laps and trying to do jumps. We had to convince the 2 boys to stop. I'm adding protective biking gear to their Xmas lists this year - they enjoyed that jumping a lot.

To top the day off C went to Penicuik cricket club for junior training night, and I sat watching with my pimms & lemonade. A lovely ending to a fab day!
