ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Woke up early because of the cleaning people. Every other Wednesday they make me wake up early.

Dad and Taylor dropped me off at Old Mill. Taylor was soon headed back to Brooklyn but her train was leaving a little later so they dropped me off first. She shares in my waking-up-early miseries because she usually has the liberty of sleeping-in when she doesn't have Luca.

Went right back to sleep when I got home. Briefly talked with Mom who was concerned that Millie had not yet pooped after her spaying.

Slept for four hours.

When I came out of my room, Lauren informed me that Mom was out getting Otto's. I called Mom to ask if she could get me the roast beef sandwich I like, but she had already preordered the sandwiches, picked them up, and was on her way home.

Mom came back with the sandwiches. She got me and herself a ham and turkey sandwich on a whole wheat roll to split. It was still really good even though it wasn't what I'd wanted.

Got an email from my acting manager Stephanie asking me to record myself reading lines for a voice over for a Disney animated show called Chuggington. I have previously auditioned for a role on Chuggington named Emery, and I got one or two callbacks, but not the job. I recorded myself in the basement toy closet because there is no echo and it's quiet.

Sent it to Stephanie but the format was wrong, she needed an mp3 or mp4 and mine was an ogg. I converted it online and sent it back and it worked like a charm.

Knowing that the 24 hours I had for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (hence the title) were quickly approaching, I messaged people who I thought could help me film it or dump the ice water throughout the day. Thankfully, Juliana Barone responded that she could come over when her family left soon and she would bring her twin Sophia, too.

Watched House M.D. and prepared for the challenge while I waited for them to come. Used the troop cooler that I'm in charge of cleaning for Boyscouts as the bucket (pictured). Filled it up pretty high with water and ice from our ice machine in the kitchen freezer. Dressed up in heavy clothing (pictured) as a joke because everyone else did it in bathing suits so I thought it'd be funny.

Juliana and Sophia walked to Old Mill and we spent a sone time discussing what I'd say and the logistics of the filming. When they saw Millie in her cage, she wet her bed, so my mom cleaned that up then came out to film.

Juliana and Sophia missed me the first time so we filled it up with less water and more ice the second time. I also got on my knees so they could get better leverage when pouring. Mom took pictures with her phone while taping me with mine.

I nominated Leah Isadora (Drama), Shayna Held (Drama), Rob Seaman (Boyscouts), and Bridgette Lorde (Drama).

They poured it over my head and it was really cold. I was soaked (pictured)!

Juliana was really hot so she laid down in the ice water in my driveway.

Sophia scratched a bug bite and it was bleeding so I gave her a Band-Aid.

Talked with them in the driveway for a little while, then they left.

Watched House M.D.

Went to Smashburger for dinner with Mom. The cashier was Dan from Drama. We got different cups for water than usual and I made a 10-dollar bet with Mom that it was a one-time thing. She thinks it's a permanent change but I think it was just Dan sticking to the rules more than everyone else.

Back home and watched more House M.D. for a while.

Went to Crossfit with Mom. On the way there we saw a black cat. Then Mom's car almost got hit. Then we saw another black cat. Then Mom almost got in another car accident (not really, I'm exaggerating). I said we'd see another black cat then get into a major car accident. Remember this for later.

Went in Crossfit and saw Paige Miller, a girl in Catherine's grade who works at and works out in Crossfit.

Did box jumps; I jumped on the highest box turned on its side (basically, that's really impressive).

Produced fastest time on the rowing machine for 1000 meters in the class. Was so out of breath afterwards I felt like I was gonna die. My heart was beating way to fast for a while, my eyes got really dry, and when I tried to take deep breaths, it hurt awfully in my throat and my chest. Oh, and my head felt really pressured and I felt mildly nauseated the whole time, especially when I tried to take deep breaths.

Saw Ryan Sliwak on the way out. He's a family friend.

Saw a black cat in the parking lot! Thankfully no major car accident though.

Went right in my room when I got home and watched House M.D.

Came out and drank some chocolate milk.

Watched Adventure Time!

Back to my room.

More House M.D.

Going to bed now.
