'I Must look a Wreck!'
I didn't have a clue what I was going to Blip today as I've had a 'stay at home and catch up day'. I was out in the garden cutting back some of the shrubs when I spotted this old Austin Seven in my neighbours garden. He is a precision engineer and has a large workshop out the back......this old wreck is being used for 'parts' for the Austin Seven he is restoring. I like the turquoise and orange colours. John has been our neighbour for 20 years and lost his wife 16 years ago...but he has many friends through his car restorations. He always joins me and my family for his Christmas dinner and spends time with us. One day I will post his finished project.
The Austin A40 Devon were marketed by the Austin Motor Company from 1947 - 1952- the first post war saloons to be produced by Austin...featuring a mix of old and new technologies. More than 450,000 were built before the model's replacement in 1952 by the Austin A40 Somerset.
