Death of a street lamp!

This lamp was damaged a week or two ago but today it was finished off. The culprit - the large rigid axle lorry with articulated trailer pulling straw from the fields.

I doubt the driver even knew he'd done it but it goes to show that perhaps he was not fully aware of what was in front of and above him.

We went out for an hour and a neighbour had rung 'street lights' and when we got back it had been taken down and is not taped to the pole. Both J and adjoining J are pleased as it means that they will have dark bedrooms........ooh scary! But I expect that Flash and Jack (elderly golden retriever) will keep guard - well Flash will as Jack tends to sleep through most things!
